Equivity came to light in 2002. Our orginal goal was to provide web hosting and web design services. So, for the next several years we built a successful online hosting and design business. Our design services specialized in e-commerce shopping cart skins for such carts as X-Cart, SunShop and ClickCart Pro. Our hosting business included shared and reseller hosting along with dedicated and VPS servers. But, in late 2005 we decided to move into a different direction so we sold the hosting business, suspended the design services and spent the beginning portion of 2006 re-vamping our business model. So in early 2006, we decided to focus on creating niche websites and Internet properties that would strive to be the best that they could within their respective niches. So, after much deliberation, we went from hosting, to the Equivity Network - new media property management, where we own and manager internet properties covering various interests.
Of the sites currently in the network, the first ones to be built were BrightFire New Media Designs at www.brightfiredesigns.com (so we could continue our work within the design community) and Free Pixel Hosting located at www.freepixelhosting.com (to allow people to freely upload and display their image files).

Over the next few years, we plan to launch additional sites. We plan to focus on one new site at a time, to ensure it's success before moving on to the next site. We have a continually evolving and changing pool of ideas to pull from should the time come for a new site. Whatever we do, whether it’s an e-commerce powered shop, a blog, a community or something else – we want to do it well. We are not restricting ourselves to any one type of site or subject matter. We will launch anything that we feel will add to our network, and our family of sites.
